Hullbridge to Battlesbridge, on the upper reaches of the River Crouch. An easy paddle in nice surroundings. Approx. time 1 hour each way. Plan to reach Battlesbridge at high tide. You can continue past the old mill, though there is a shallow sill across the flood gates.
