Home Up

It is possible to use Two Tree island slipway at all states of the tide, this paddle was timed to leave Two Tree 1 hour before low water, allowing a favourable tide out to Southend pier and catching the first of the flood tide on the return. The Ray Sand channel is sheltered at low tide almost to the Pier, though the Pier it self is exposed from east to south-west winds. The round trip is approximately 5 miles and we had a leisurely paddle of 3 hours. Only one Seal was spotted this time, was camera shy!.
